Oh my, I’ve been waiting on this for weeks now. If you don’t remember my post when I first started “forcing” this bulb, you can see a before HERE.
And here’s what happened yesterday!
FYI – this is a rather full post of images but once I started shooting, I realized how much I’ve missed shooting florals, so I just kept shooting. Who could resist though?! We’ve had such a looooong winter (still have snow on the ground) and I’ve been longing for spring. So I took advantage of having a real live bloom in my house!
And then I switched my lens to my Macro lens and took two shots, one of the stamen and then focused on the actual center of the flower.
I then decided to add my hand to the photo so you could somewhat tell how huge the yet unopened bud is on this beauty. There’s 2 buds left to open and I’m thinking I’ll see them all four at the same time, probably tomorrow.
I just couldn’t have all these images staring at me from within Lightroom and not use at least one of them to texture.
I used 2 of Kim Klassen’s textures, the first layer being her kk-leslie with a blend mode of multiply at 55% and the second texture layer using her kk-heartfelt, again with a blend mode of multiply at 40%. I used the Gessele font to add the quote.
And one more where I stood on the stairs and show down on the flower towards the hardwood floor, thus the brown background in the above and this next image.
I hope you enjoyed the amaryllis today and I’ll be sure to share at least one photo of it when all four buds are open!
Thanks so much for stopping by and Have A Creative Day!
