Quite by accident, I have 2 little sunflower plants growing in one of my earth boxes with the amaryllis and calla lilies. The birds must’ve seen fit to drop these sunflower seeds in the planter, OR it could’ve been those pesky-destructive-but-oh-so-cute chipmunks.
The first one has bloomed. It was overcast early this morning and it was calling my name and begging for me to put the macro lens on my camera. And how could I NOT oblige the poor thing. Anyone with a camera knows what that’s like, right?
I put the Tamron 90mm Macro on my D90 and attached it to the tripod. Tripods are a MUST with macro.
I DID have to delete quite a few images right off the bat………and I knew I would. There was the faintest of faint breezes blowing and I could see the sunflower moving ever so slightly through my view finder. And so I waited……and waited……and waited. You probably know that breeze didn’t happen until I stepped out the door!! Never fails!
Anyway, here are the resulting images. I did my editing in Lightroom and then moved them into Topaz Detail (affiliate link), using the Feature Enhancement preset as well.
And what luck! There was still dew on the petals!
And this little fella is the next to bloom!
I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, I really SHOULD shoot macro more often! So fun and interesting!
That’s it for today…..hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow for Texture Tuesday!
Hugs and Have A Creative Day!
