It has been awhile since I’ve picked up my camera to actually shoot Still Life. But today I enjoyed a little time in the realm of Still Life Photography with Bee Balm.
I’d like to call this shot……..Faded Beauty. Both the Bee Balm and the vintage Book (dated 1891) are fading with age. But both are still beautiful!
I gathered the book, white ribbon, scissors, cheese cloth, and my chippy boards. I waited to cut the flowers until I had everything else ready, simply because of the HEAT out there! Whew! I set up the tripod and click, click, click. I did a bit of editing in Lightroom and there you have it!
And here’s a bit of interesting information about the Bee Balm:
- Medicinal uses:-
- It is also used it to alleviate stomach and bronchial ailments.
- A tisane made from the plant was also used to treat mouth and throat infections caused by dental caries and gingivitis.
- Bee balm is a natural source of the antiseptic compound thymol, the primary active ingredient in some modern commercial mouthwash formulas.
I am so thankful that the rain held off and allowed me to have a bit of fun with my camera and flower garden today.
Do tell, what have you been shooting? I’d love to hear!
Have A Creative Day!!
