The Life Application Bible has this to say about the verses for today:
Waiting for God to help us is not easy, but David received four benefits from waiting: God (1) lifted him out of his despair, (2) set his feet on firm ground, (3) established his goings (steadied him as he walked), and (4) gave him a new song. Often blessings cannot be received unless we go through the trial of waiting.
I had the opportunity to minister to a resident in the nursing home where I work yesterday. This poor little sweet old lady was in despair. She didn’t understand why this is happening to her and she’s weary. She said she didn’t understand why God was letting this happen. I sat with her and reminded her that God doesn’t let things like this happen, although when it’s US who are going through trials, we tend to think the same thing. I told her it was the sin in the world from the beginning that is the reason for our suffering and sadness but also reminded her that God tells us that one day there will be no more suffering and no more tears. I told her to just talk to God and even though we don’t see Him, we can know through his Word that it is at these times when he’s right there beside us. She seemed to calm down and agreed with me and I was so grateful that God showed me how to handle this particular situation.
Thanks so much for stopping by……it means so much to me.
Have a Blessed Sunday,
