Before I get to this week’s Scripture and a Snapshot, I want to let you know that my “InLinkz” subscription has expired and I’m letting it go. We can no longer link up with thumbnails.
I AM going to continue my weekly Scripture and a Snapshot. If you’d like to join in, you can always leave a link to your post in the comments. I appreciate anyone that wants to join in or maybe you just want to stop by and read…..that’s okay too, but I just want you to know that I will continue this.
So, on with this week’s Scripture and a Snapshot……1 Corinthians 3:1-3
The Life Application Study Bible has this to say about verses 1-3:
“Paul called the Corinthians babies in the Christian life because they were not yet spiritually healthy and mature. The proof was that they quarreled like children. Immature Christians are controlled by their own desires (“carnal”).; mature believers by God’s desires. How much influence do your own desires have on your life? Your goal should be to let God’s desires be your own. Being controlled by your own desires will stunt your growth.”
That’s a tall order, don’t you think? In our human-ness, we tend to think of what WE want first, without consulting God. To grow as a Christian, we need to begin by asking God what HE wants for us…….following HIS lead, not ours.
Thanks so much for stopping by. A new Scripture and a Snapshot will be posted on Saturday evenings OR Sunday mornings.
Hugs and Have a Blessed Week ahead!
