There’s the old saying……when life gives you lemons……okay so I didn’t have any lemons but I DID have 2 pomegranates. I’ve had much fun shooting these this week. I’m surprised there’s any seeds at all left……they’re oh so good! But now I’m finished shooting them so eating the seeds won’t be a problem.
These 2 particular images are for Kim Klassen’s “Be Still Fifty Two” class. I am in awe of the talent in that group. I can spend hours browsing through the different groups and gazing at the wonderful images everyone is posting. Such inspiration!
I fought with this shoot for several hours simply because it was such an overcast….yucky gray….day. Almost every day is like that here in the winter time. It doesn’t bode well for photographers. I wanted that bright white dreamy effect but just couldn’t make it happen. So I did the best I could and here’s the two images I decided to use.
POM #1 – In Lightroom, I did a slight curve adjustment, increased exposure, shadows and whites, decreased contrast and highlights
POM #2 – A slightly different angle to give me a bit more “white space” – I basically did the same thing in Lightroom but on this one, I applied Kim’s “lightly” preset along with it. It actually turned out just about the same except for the saturation is a bit lower.
I find the fun part of opening a pomegranate is getting to spank it with a wooden spoon to get the seeds out! Talk about a great way to relieve stress…….and then a nice seed treat afterwards!
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate…….and read……all comments.
Stop back Friday and I’ll have another post with MORE Poms for Friday Finds!
