I was just feeling that rustic mood today. I went on a scavenger hunt in hubby’s garage to find a few rusty items. His buckets of nuts and bolts was a great place to start and sure didn’t take me long to find a handful of rust! He calls EVERYTHING in his garage “gold”, but I beg to differ.
At any rate, I grabbed a few items, scattered them on my old burlap bag and shot away. I used my Tamron 90mm 1:2.8 macro lens on my Nikon d90 camera.
And as usual, I just couldn’t leave it alone, HAD to play with some texture.
I used the following texture, which I shot a couple years ago. I believe it was the top of our grill outside.
I added it in a new layer overtop my original image with blend mode of color burn and reduced the opacity t0 44%. I then duplicated the texture layer using a blend mode of soft light at 100%.
If you’d like to play with the texture, you can download it HERE.
