Well, it’s not Monday anymore, far from it, but……well, life does get in the way sometimes. And I’m PRETTY sure I can still get in the link up with Sarah Carletti Photography.
My birthday was Tuesday and I have a few images to share of some goodies I got! YUMMMM.
I’ll start with the macro image. However, when this arrived, I was too excited and too lazy to go upstairs and get my macro lens, so I set my Nikon d90 on the macro setting. I haven’t use this for quite some time and it seems to have done a fine job!
My daughter and son-in-law and little Alexia sent this to me. It comes from a local company called “Edible Arrangements”. And boy, the fruit is the perfect ripeness. A gal could founder on this stuff!! I did share with hubbs though, so it’s okay.
Here’s the entire bouquet, with strawberries and chocolate covered strawberries, grapes, musk melon, cantaloupe, and the sprinkled chocolate covered goodies are pineapple slices!
And last but not least, TWO of my very favorites! White cake with white icing and Broccoli Cheese Soup from one of Columbiana’s favorite places to eat….the Dutch Haus! I stayed home with our furbaby Boss while Gene went to his eye appointment and he brought these home to me for my birthday. Pretty sweet, huh? Their broccoli cheese soup is THE most awesome I’ve ever had. It’s thick, not runny and oh so pleasing to the taste buds!
The reason I stayed home with Boss is that he’s not doing so well. He apparently has an auto-immune disease and they’re having difficulty identifying some of the cells in his blood. So we’re not far from him these days. He’s still very much alert, eats well, but is having trouble walking because apparently his immune system is attacking his own body and it has affected his kidneys (he’s on meds for that now) and it is trying to separate the pads of his paws from the tissue OF the paw. I’m doctoring that as often as I possibly can and the poor little guy is getting around with my grandson’s socks on his four feet, after I’ve applied medication. It is kind of cute, but so so sad that something like this is happening. I’ve NEVER heard of it nor seen anything like it before. The socks seem to help him walk a little easier but he doesn’t do much walking unless he absolutely has to.
Anyway, we’d sure appreciate warm wishes and thoughts/prayers for him and we’re holding out hope that they’ll pin point whatever it is that has caused his immune system to go wacky.
Here’s a photo of him taken a couple years ago with Boo (pictured in the background). He’s a sweet sweet dog and we love both our furbabies very much! If you’ve visited my Scraps and Crafts blog, you will have seen this same photo there in a post. I’m sorry to duplicate but we’re so very worried about him.
Okay, I think I’ve gone on and on long enough. I thank you so much for stopping by!
Have A Creative Day!
