Little Things I Love

March 26, 2015 by CherylMC 6 Comments

Hello!! I hope everyone had a great week and have a blessed weekend!

This has been a busy week for us, and a soul-searching week for me. My life lately has had quite the twists and turns, ups and downs, good news and bad news.

Before I get into today’s post, I’d like to say that…….if you saw my Scripture and a Snapshot – Week 4 Post, you know about what my husband, Gene, has been through recently. It doesn’t just affect him, but everyone who loves him.

I won’t go through the entire post, you can read it if you want to…..but I will say that they found nothing wrong with his heart in the hospital (Thank the Lord), BUT his biopsy did show a small amount of cancer (Thank the Lord again because it was small). He will be going through radiation before long so I’d appreciate your thoughts and prayers about that.

There’s a downside to the radiation and that is that he won’t be able to even hold Alexia for at least 3 months. That is going to be a tough one to get through, she loves her Pop and she’s too young (1 yr. old) to understand why he can’t hold her. She loves to sit on his lap and pick things out of his pockets. He’s the only one in the family that wears shirts with 2 pockets on the front. LOL Anyway, it looks like I’ll need to go to Jessi’s house to watch Alexia and then there’s the new grandbaby coming the end of May…….he won’t be able to hold this new wee one either for awhile.

I just have to have Faith that we’ll get through this time in our lives.

Okay, now onto my post.

I don’t know if I mentioned it or not in another post but I won a copy of Bella Grace from Kim Klassen in one of her blog posts. YAY!!! I’ve never seen a copy of Bella Grace and they don’t sell them locally…..BOO!!….but I have to tell you that this magazine is so very wonderful!! It not only has beautiful, breath taking images for inspiration, it has plenty “words of wisdom” to go along with it! I LOVE the feel of the paper between my fingers and am still working my way through it from cover to cover, soaking up all I can from images and words! Thank you Kim for the giveaway!!

Through some of the readings, I decided to revisit my “Little Things I Love” category (I used to have this as a link-up here on the blog) and begin taking photos of more of the Little Things I Love and sharing them here…….little things that hold a special meaning or special memory for me……little things that make me feel happy…….little things that make me smile……little things I am so very thankful for!

So here’s my first in this series:

  • the lovely Bella Grace, and
  • 2 very special pieces of Fenton Art Glassware……family heirlooms

Editing in Lightroom, no textures or presets applied.

I wanted a top-down image and ended up with this one, cropped. I had the large vase standing up but none of the pretty hand-painting was showing, so I just laid it on it’s back.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I’m linking up with Kim’s Friday Finds today.

Hugs and Have An Artistic Day!
Cheryl

Cheryl, I’m so sorry about your husband’s health and even the small cancer. CA treatment is a challenging process. And that he isn’t going to be able to hold his grandchildren is even tougher…so please know I will be praying for his healing and strength to endure the journey, but also for your family during the process. I love your special pieces images, and yes, isn’t Bella Grace so lovely!? Hugs to you!!

I am so very sorry to hear about what you, your husband, and your family are going through. Having a thankful heart is a good way to process suffering. May you continue to see God’s goodness even in this difficult time. Hugs. Sarah

I’m so very sorry to hear of your husband’s health challenges. Thank goodness the cancer was found in it’s early stages. Will keep you, your husband, and your family in my prayers.

I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.

Bella Grace is wonderful. I had to order it from Stampington because it’s not sold locally here, either. You used it to good advantage, beautiful photos!
