I have another “Homer Laughlin” find for you today. I fell in love with this artist years ago when I found a vintage pitcher and bowl set (along with other pieces to go with it). So I’m always on the lookout for anything “Homer Laughlin”. I believe they call this particular heavy glassware “restaurant ware”? It’s really thick and heavy. I DO use the pieces that I find for things like olives or relish, cut veggies, etc.
Today as I link up with Friday Finds, I’m sharing the last image I captured with my Nikon d90 prior to it being sent to Nikon for repair yesterday afternoon.
WHAT IN THE WORLD AND I GOING TO DO WITHOUT MY CAMERA?? I asked the guy if he realized that this was like sending my child away?! ROFL And JUST when I need it the most to bring me up out of this dark world I’ve been suppressed by for several months.
I’m guessing I’ll have to dig out the old Nikon Coolpix and do with it what I tell others they can do, right? Right!
Okay, on with my share.
I processed this image in lightroom and then added Kim’s “melancholy” preset, then into Photoshop CC to add her “kk-sybil” texture at soft light blend mode at 80% opacity.
The texture cooled it down, whitened it up a bit, but I’m loving the overall effect of using the preset and texture together.
The little flowers came out of the bouquet I got for Mother’s Day from my daughter. I thought the colors in them went so well with the little dish. And then I tried coordinating my font color with the colors in the dish.
Thanks so much for stopping by. You’re going to be finding a mixture of the “Old World” and this new (for me) lightened style of Still Life in the coming months and year.
Have A Creative Day!
