SCRAPBOOKING INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEKEND
As I thought about how to begin this post, I saw my layout in my mind’s eye. Thoughts of the process of scrapbooking….which I like to call memory keeping, began to invade. I could see layouts I did YEARS ago and how different they are now.
Scrapbooking Memory Keeping is a process……evolution-like…..constantly changing. It matters not whether you paper scrap or create digital pages, it changes just as the seasons change. (more on this in a moment)
But ONE THING never changes (at least for me). I’m creating memories for my children, my grandchildren, and even THEIR families. It’s a passion of mine. I’m driven to capture the moments of their lives for them to look back on years from now.
My daughter sent me a text yesterday with this image……my only granddaughter walking for the first time (since she began walking) with her Momma through the pumpkins at our local farm market. There couldn’t be a sweeter memory to capture…..a moment frozen in time……one that YEARS from now, she’ll look upon and smile.
Proof of the evolution….the change. Here’s a layout I did in 1994…..what is it they say? We’ve come a long way baby! No fluff, squares and rectangles placed strategically on the page. BUT….the moment/memory was captured and frozen for all to see. This is a layout I did of and for my husband’s life as a road driver….many MANY days away from home, making a living for his family. Oh the things he’s seen on the road and the pieces of his family’s life that he’s missed.
Today, at this moment in time, I choose a more artistic approach to
scrapbooking memory keeping. I’ve always loved the look that Anna Aspnes can lend to our memory keeping. I just completed her brand new AnnaBlendz Class Series. You get a first hand look (live videos) at her actually building an artsy layout with her products. Awesome teacher! You’re right there listening to her explain and answer your questions as she moves through her creation.
That’s it for today. I hope I’ve given you some food for thought as you move through your own memory keeping evolution!
I’d love to hear your thoughts…..leave me a comment and let me know if you’ve been through this evolution in scrapbooking as well.
Hugs and Have A Creative Day!
