I just couldn’t stand it any longer and stopped at the florist yesterday and bought myself a mixed bouquet of flowers…….just to shoot them! I just love saving that, it makes me smile. There was 2 stems of these lovely pink carnations in the bunch.
So I decided to go for another top down shot. Just one image to share using top down and then of course I’ll have plenty more images with different types of flowers in the next several days and HOPING to be able to dry some of them as well.
I found a different light source this morning. Instead of shooting in my upstairs bathroom or in front of the sliding glass doors, I tried my living room. Lots of light coming in the big window and it wasn’t too bright, no sunshine here! In fact, I had to hang a second shear over top my shears that are already on the windows.
Here’s the result. I played with several set up compositions and this is the one I decided was a keeper.
I used a basic Lightroom edit, then played with the saturation to pop the pink just a bit. No presets or textures. The only thing I’m not totally happy with is that part of the scissors is underneath the bloom but I think it would’ve been obscured at any point in this tight composition.
Short and sweet for today,
