Blogging Mistakes I’ve Made – AM Making

Why am I writing about Blogging Mistakes I’ve Made – AM Making?

As I sat down today to “work on the site”, I asked myself:

  • Where do I start?
  • What do I REALLY want?
  • What do my readers REALLY want? (and some of you have helped me with that by taking my survey – and I THANK YOU – again)
  • How do I plan on doing everything that’s running through my mind?

I’ll answer the last question FIRST and that will pretty much explain the answers to the other three questions as well.  So my answer is:

I honestly don’t know!

Oh, I have something here on-site already set up and ready to go……HOWEVER…..there’s no foundation in place for it…..YET!! I finally realized that it’s not quite ready to be shared. Yes, I THOUGHT it was, but without a foundation, it’s worthless…..to you….AND to me.

So I’ve decided this:

The Holidays will be kicking in full force beginning next week and I’ve decided to put this new project on hold until AFTER the Holidays. Besides, wouldn’t the New Year be a better time to concentrate on my blog and my readers?

You see, my biggest mistake in my blogging “slash” biz is that I am the type of person that tends to get the cart before the horse. I also tend to get involved in WAY too many projects, a jack-of-all-trades, which leaves me little time to concentrate on just ONE super project at a time! Not to mention, leaving no time for my family or myself! I think that everything has to be done NOW, QUICKLY…..and that is where I get in trouble! You’d think I would’ve learned after all these years that the GOOD things take time. I need to slow down and do just ONE thing at a time.

WELL…NO MORE!

I’m going to take a class in January……..yes, we bloggers “slash” biz people are continually trying to learn how to run our online businesses. So 2016 is looking pretty exciting…..not only for ME but YOU, my readers! What I really want is to communicate to you (WITH YOU) what I know, share my successes along with the failures. I AM human, we ALL are. I’m being gut honest here today….putting it all out there. Rambling may be involved as well and for that, I apologize. But at least you can see where I’m coming from.

SO HERE’S MY PLAN

I’m stepping back until AFTER the Holidays. I’ve been working practically non-stop putting this new project in place and to be truthful……I MISS MY FAMILY! And they come first. And yours should too. I’m ready to step into the Holiday season with cleaning, cooking, baking, decorating, and shopping……and no worries! Those little men in my head can just take a break!!

I’m sure you’ll see a blog post here and there because I DO plan on doing my own version of December Daily. I have for the past 4 or 5 years and it helps keep me spiritually motivated for Christmas, not to mention how fun it is!

Okay, I THINK I’ve pretty much laid it all out in a nutshell (a big one) and I hope all my readers understand and will hang in there because I DO have big plans for Cheryl McCain Photography……it’s just getting there this time of year that has made me realize I can’t do it RIGHT if I don’t slow down so it CAN be done right. And then YOU will benefit from it!

So, until next time……
