Happy Friday everyone! I’m looking forward to a productive weekend as I continue my decluttering, cleaning, and organizing my home.
The Be Still theme actually spurred me to take some much needed “me” time while I walked our property finding these Autumn beauties. I find that when I actually take that time to myself, my mind wanders (probably too much!) and I begin to think creatively……thinking ahead to how I’m going to set up this Autumn shoot……thinking about how I could use the images inside my home to create pieces of me throughout, creating comfort and peace within. Not to mention just being outdoors seeing the wonders of nature unfolding into the Autumn season.
And for Friday Finds, here is what I found. Oh, and I wanted to mention too that my background is actually a table top. I found the little table that I played on so many hours as a small child. What could be better for a Friday Find??!!
IMAGE #1 – Autumn Reds – I started under the Maple trees, dropping their leaves of red and snipped a sprig of red berries from the barberry bush.
All my images, as you probably know are first imported into Lightroom for a basic edit, so I won’t repeat this with all the images.
I then applied Kim’s kk-moodswing preset and used the graduated filter to bring some light in from the top left.
IMAGE #2 – Chestnuts – I moved around to the Chestnut tree and was just lucky enough to find one, ONLY one chestnut. The squirrels are gathering them up as soon as they fall. I wonder if that’s an indication of our winter-to-come.
I used one of OnOne Perfect Presets – The Dark Side>Light. It also created a slight vignette.
I simply added a tone curve to my basic LR edit. I just wanted this one natural.
I used Kim’s kk-rumpled preset and tweaked some adjustments. I was happy with the moody feel of this image.
IMAGE #5 – Autumn Mix – and finally an image of everything together.
I added one of my textures (cm_texvol5_01) at multiply 100% and then used one of my brushes to mask off some of the inner portion of the texture, while adding a different effect to the image at the same time.
I then made a few minor adjustments using a levels adjustment layer.
IMAGE #6 – Autumn Collage – I couldn’t resist creating a collage in the Print Module while I was still in Lightroom. I made this at 10″ x 10″…….thinking a printed and framed image would make a lovely Autumn decoration in the home.
Yes, I realize my post was a little image heavy today but I absolutely LOVE Autumn! There’s a quote that says:
Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower. ~ Albert Camus
OH so true! I’m so happy you stopped by. Have you been capturing Autumn through YOUR lens?
Hugs and Have a Creative Weekend!!
