The day has come that my baby has had her own baby, my first granddaughter after having been blessed with four grandsons, 2 each from my sons.
Really, I can’t be that old, can I? NO, I’m not old! See I had a plan………if I had my own children while I was young, then I’d still be young enough to enjoy and play with my grandchildren! LOL Good plan, huh?
I was blessed as well with being able to be present during Jessi’s labor and then at Alexia’s birth as well.
So……I introduce you to Alexia Elizabeth Reichard, born February 10th at 8:48 PM. She weighed 7 pounds and was 20-1/2 inches long, a beautiful and healthy baby girl! Doesn’t she just look like she’s smiling for me already??!! <…..sigh>
And can you tell that I textured her photo? I added a solid light pink color adjustment layer at soft light blend mode and lowered the opacity to about 20. I then added one of my textures (but failed to take note of which one it was), again at soft light blending mode and lowered the opacity on it as well. I just wanted to take away a bit of the newborn-ness of her skin and surroundings. I did remove some of the texture from her. I then added the little pink frame and heart and the birth information.
And here’s another photo of my daughter getting to hold her child for the first time.
Childbirth is just one of those miracles that leaves you in a state of pure AWE, isn’t it? And I’m so thankful that I’ve gotten to experience it not only myself but with and through my children. I’ve been fortunate enough to have witnessed 3 of my 5 grandchildren being born and being able to catch those first precious moments with my camera.
Thanks so much for visiting and HAVE an AWE inspired day!
